2012 Annual Report Released

(Ord, NE) – In anticipation of the 2012 Annual Awards Banquet held on February 23, 2013, Valley County Economic Development and the Ord Area Chamber of Commerce has released the 2012 Annual Report.

The Annual Report provides an account of economic development and Chamber programs, along with 2012 Notable Achievements, 2012 Economic Development Fund Investments, 2012 Annual Business Visitation Report, Media/Marketing/Promotional activity and 2012 Financial Information.

Additionally, the year-end use of the economic development fund can be found below:

In 2012, economic development funds available for investment totaled $921,223. The allowable collections for the 2011-2012 Fiscal Year were $372,166. Economic development loans in repayment for the 2011-2012FY totaled $204,049. The cash balance of the fund as of January 1, 2012 totaled $345,008.

A Nebraska Advantage-qualifying business received a sales tax refund in the amount of $198,000 this past year. The refund was paid out through sales tax collections made possible by the local option municipal economic development fund.

In 2012, economic development fund proceeds were used to support a variety of community and economic development priorities, with $887,387 being invested in Valley County this past year.
