Be A Part Of National Night Out

Be a part of a block-party gathering on the Valley County Courthouse lawn on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 during National Night Out from 5:30-7:30 pm.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

The Ord Police Department and Ord Area Chamber of Commerce encourage you and your business, organization or group to take part in the gathering by planning and sponsoring a booth or kids activity for families and community members to enjoy. Utilize this opportunity to promote your business or organization and showcase your support and involvement in the community. Your offering doesn’t have to be expensive or elaborate.

A few ideas include:

– An activity related to your profession or industry
– Bubble machines
– Sidewalk chalk station and/or hopscotch
– Hula hoops
– Snow cones, cotton candy or other sweet treats
– Yard games
– Ring toss
– Sidewalk bowling
– Face painting
– Music
– Simple crafts or science experiments
– For restaurants: bring an aspect of your business or meal outside in front of your restaurant to attract event-goers

If you are offering water-based activities, please plan to do so on the sidewalks as opposed to the courthouse lawn. Please avoid using stakes or anything else that may also damage the courthouse lawn.

An ongoing list of activities and offerings will be posted online and in follow up emails to ensure a variety of activities are being offered. Contact Kristina at (308) 728-7875 with any questions or to brainstorm ways your business or organization can get involved. Reply with the activity you plan to offer by July 24 to ensure your activity and business/organization are included in promotions for the event.

You can also join and share the Facebook event to help spread the word!
