Elyria Elementary School District #63 is located between Ord and Burwell in the village of Elyria on State Highway 11. The school is an Accredited Class 1 school and is affiliated with the Ord District #5 Jr./Sr. High School and also the Burwell District #100 Jr./Sr. High School. The school is handicapped accessible. Loup/Scotia Public Schools
The Ord Public Schools District is located in Valley, Garfield, Greeley and Custer counties and covers 288.5 square miles. A class 3 district, Ord is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and the State of Nebraska. For further information call (308) 728-5013.
St. Mary's School is a Catholic grade school which incorporates grades kindergarten through eighth. In 1955, Sisters of Saint Joseph came from Chicago to staff the school. Through the years, the enrollment has varied from 70 to 156.
Valleyside District 10 is a modern Class 1 school located eight miles south of Ord. There is an excellent teacher to student ratio that allows maximum one-on-one teaching for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Students learn through a variety of traditional and unique teaching methods that include a complete computer lab and Internet connection. At Valleyside, small school philosophy combined with big school technology creates an ideal environment for students to learn and develop.
Vinton School is located in Mira Valley, six miles south
of Ord. The school currently has twenty-nine students. Vinton School strives
to instill Christian values in the students as well as giving students basic
academic instruction.
A Learning Center is located at the Ord Township Library through
Central Community College.
The Columbus, Grand Island and Hastings Campuses serve this Learning Center.

The University of Nebraska at Kearney, Central Community College in Grand Island; with classes in Kearney as well, are the main providers in the immediate area. However, courses are also available by way of distance learning through the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte, Northeast Community College in Norfolk, and the Platte campus in Columbus.
