The Valley County Economic Development Board is seeking an individual to assist with its economic development efforts.

Specific duties include:
– Provide direct one-on-one business development coaching to local entrepreneurs.
– Provide direct one-on-one business transition planning support to local business owners.
– Assist the Director in the recruitment, retention and expansion of businesses in Ord and Valley County.
– Serve as project manager for the development of a rural entrepreneurship academy in partnership with Central Community College and area high schools.
– Coordinate relevant business trainings in partnership with Central Community College.
– Serve as project lead on an annual business visitation program.
– Serve as project lead on all marketing efforts that include: social media, print, radio, television and digital media.
– Design, implement and execute marketing campaigns aimed at increasing the visibility of Ord and Valley County to families looking to relocate to the area.
– Design, implement and execute marketing campaigns aimed at increasing the visibility of the Ord and Valley County business community.
– Assist the Economic Development Board in supporting various boards, committees and working groups, including meeting arrangements, communications, agenda setting, recording and general support. Openness to doing all the support tasks associated with staffing such groups including meeting arrangements, recording, agenda setting, research and material development.
– Other duties as assigned.

Skills required for this position include:
– Bachelors Degree or equivalent
– Two years experience in economic development, Chamber of Commerce work or similar fields.
– A strong personal and professional interest in community economic development.
– A strong background in business administration, business development and/or marketing.
– The ability to work with volunteer boards, working groups and committees.  Experience and openness to working as a member of a team.
– The ability to maintain strict confidentiality standards.
– The ability to initiate new projects and manage existing projects with little oversight.
– The ability to multi-task several projects at one time.
– The ability to perform in high-intensity work environments.
– A strong personal desire for learning and professional growth in economic development.
– A strong commitment building a strong future for Ord and Valley County.

Compensation:
– This is a salaried, full-time position; compensation is negotiable based on experience, education and skills.
