Johnny Appleseed Pre-Registration & Audition

An audition will be held for the Missoula Children’s Theatre’s production of JOHNNY APPLESEED on Monday, August 3rd, at The Golden Husk Theatre in Ord, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Those auditioning should arrive at 1:00 pm and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition. All youth who plan to audition must pre-register this year by emailing or calling 308.730.8133. Please provide the participant’s name, age/grade level and family contact information (parent name, email and phone number) by July 27th at 5:00 pm.

Among the roles to be cast are Johnny Appleseed; Granpa’s Kiddos, the Pioneers; Sir Peter Prescott and his sidekick Rupert; the Fife & Drum Soldiers; Lewis & Clark; A group of Western Animals; and the Apple Seeds. Students, in 1st through 12th grades, in the Loup Valley region are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant Directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities. Pre-registrations will be honored on a first come, first served basis. There are a limited number of cast roles including the following: 16 spots for youth entering 1st grade through 7 years old, 44 spots for youth 8-18 years old, and 4 spots for assistant directors for youth, 12-18 years old.  

The Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery and props.  MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm each day. A schedule for the rehearsal times for specific cast roles will be provided at the beginning of the week. Educational workshops will also be offered on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday following rehearsals from 2:45-3:30 pm.

JOHNNY APPLESEED will be presented on Saturday, August 8th at 3:00 pm and 5:30 pm at The Golden Husk Theatre. The Missoula Children’s Theatre residency in Valley County is brought to you as a free arts and cultural youth experience, by The Golden Husk Theatre with support from the Valley County Community Foundation Fund and the Wozab Memorial Fund.
