The best of small town education

Ord High School

High-quality, public education is the foundation to Nebraska’s great quality of life.

In Ord, it’s no different.  Here, students have tremendous opportunities to excel.  Classroom size is small and students get the one-on-one attention with teachers they deserve.  Ord students also boast exceptional scholastic achievement, with the vast majority of students attending post-secondary education.

Learning extends beyond the classroom in Ord as well.  In 2009, voters passed a $9.8 million dollar school bond to renovate the existing historic Ord High School, along with constructing a new sports gym to give the community modern facilities to compete in a 21st Century learning environment.

Post-secondary education can be accessed in town as well.  The Ord Learning Center is a learning facility provided by Central Community College, and is co-located with Valley County Economic Development and the Ord Area Chamber of Commerce.  The Center provides distance learning, independent study and coming in late 2010 or early 2011, live-led instruction.
