Summer Rec Program Funding Secured

(Ord, NE) – The Loup Valley Jaycees are pleased to announce another successful project funded by securing donations to keep the Ord Summer Recreation Program alive in 2011. The Jaycees raised $1,100 on Friday, May 29th to meet their financial obligation to fund the program. The funding was matched with another $1,100 from the Ord Rotary Club, ensuring that all local children have access to summer recreation in the area.

“The generosity of the folks here in the North Loup Valley has allowed a great program to continue for youth in the area” said Jade Stunkel, a local Jaycee and Ord City Councilman. Alan Gabriel, another Jaycee, reminds area residents “if locals are still interested in supporting the program, Jaycees will be establishing a fund for future Summer Rec Program needs. We can use all the financial help we can get.”

Donations are still being accepted for future program needs. The Ord Summer Recreation Program begins on Monday, June 13th at Bussell Park.  It runs from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday, and continues through July 28th.  No pre-registration is required.
