Unique Opportunities for Youth Entrepreneurs – Y.E.S.

Eight local youth entrepreneurs have been busy preparing for the Youth Entrepreneur Showcase (Y.E.S.) which will be held Friday, January 31st in the new commons area at Ord High School.  Participants have been creating booth displays, recording Public Service Announcements at KNLV Radio, designing brochures and business cards, practicing their sales pitch and much more, all in an effort to promote and grow their business.

During the event, a panel of four judges will evaluate the entrepreneurs’ booth appearance, business concept, promotional tools and customer service.  The top two winners in both the Professional and Novice level will receive grant funding from the Valley County Community Foundation Fund to help expand and grow their business and a free one-year membership to the Ord Area Chamber of Commerce.  Y.E.S. participants have also been paired with a local business mentor to provide feedback about their products and services and guidance with their business concept.

For a photo album of Y.E.S. activities, follow the Valley County Community Foundation Fund on Facebook.

The Youth Entrepreneur Showcase is sponsored by Ord FBLA, Ord Area Chamber of Commerce, Valley County Economic Development and Valley County Community Foundation Fund.
