Valley County Community Foundation Fund Announces Scholarship Winners

(Ord, NE) – The Valley County Community Foundation Fund (VCCFF) is granting three $100.00 scholarships to local leaders who are passionate about the future of Valley County, for participation in the annual Connecting Young Nebraskans Summit. The scholarship recipients are Jennifer Remmereid (a computer technology teacher and FBLA coach at Ord High School), Harold Benton (a Farm Bureau Insurance Agent and Financial Advisor), and Jamie Keep (President of the Nebraska Charolais Association and office assistant at Dana F Cole & Company). The VCCFF believes in the importance of engaging local emerging leaders in  planning for the successful future of our local communities and state.

The annual Connecting Young Nebraskans Summit goals are to engage young Nebraskans and give them an opportunity to meet peers from across the state.   Connecting Young Nebraskans (CYN) is a network that strives to encourage a forward-looking organization that provides opportunities to shape the state’s future by sharing knowledge, insights and desires. CYN opens a new avenue to encourage and support the participation of those under 40 who live in rural areas.  This year the Summit will be held in West Point, Nebraska on October 27th and 28th.  Participants will listen to keynote speakers Jeff Slobotski and Dusty Davidson, founders of Silicon Prairie News and take part in round table discussions with others who care about the future of their local communities and state.

The Valley County Community Foundation Fund (VCCFF) is dedicated to making a positive impact in our countywide community through supporting growth in leadership development, youth programs, entrepreneurship, and local charitable giving opportunities. Currently, the VCCFF is working in partnership with many local and state entities on community enhancement projects that will promise our children and generations to come, a bright future in Valley County.
