Youth Entrepreneurs Learn Basic Business Concepts

EntrepreneurShip Investigation (ESI) Camp began today for local youth entrepreneurs.  Twenty-five youth will be working to develop a new business idea or expand their business idea during the week-long camp.  They will then have the chance to sell their products or services on the Valley County Courthouse lawn this Friday from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m.  You can learn more about ESI Camp here.

As a part of their learning experience, they were able to tour the Central Community College – Ord Learning Center to learn about higher education opportunities offered in their local community.  Staff from the Ord Area Chamber of Commerce and Valley County Economic Development then provided a presentation about services they offer local businesses.  The presentation also contained information regarding intellectual property rights and the process for reporting sales tax – information that is valuable for any business owner.  Watch the presentation that was shared with the ESI Campers below:
